FEATURED FILMS

NATALIE & RICKY

THE HOMESTEAD, WILLIS, TX

I actually met Natalie when she was a baby…I’m aging myself here, but I used to play music with her dad 20 years ago when I was a teenager. Fast forward to last year when her dad told me Natalie was getting married and asked if I could film their wedding. Such a small world. Their wedding was such a cool celebration, beautiful and vibey, party for days. But as cool as that stuff is, I care more about the human face than I do a beautiful ballroom shot. I never feel like captions do much good when describing something that’s meant to be seen.

VALOUREE & AUSTIN

THE HOUSE ESTATE, HOCKLEY TX

This was a career first: Val and Austin moved their wedding date so that I could be there to film it. They were also perhaps the most “down for anything” couple I’ve ever worked with. They wanted to jump in the ocean, lie in the grass…as a videographer it was nuts. I don’t usually even THINK to ask people to do that, but the results were incredible. All the gorgeous visuals helped to tell their pretty awesome love story in the end and I feel their personalities really shone through.

REAGAN & SPENSER

AUSTIN, TX

Spenser mentioned doing a long “oner” somewhere in their film - so the opening sequence features a continuous shot for 43 seconds…yes I counted. I really sensed a kindred spirit with both Reagan and Spenser and loved being able to be a part of their wedding, ride on a boat with them while being outpaced by solo rowers (it only went 5mph), and finally be tasked with putting together something that was unique but also true to their relationship.

I love the idea of doing stuff that’s different, unique, etc…but it can’t, or at least shouldn’t IMO, be at the expense of telling the story. Please enjoy Reagan and Spenser’s highlight from their Austin wedding.

CHELSEA & CODY

ROCKY MOUNTAINS, CO

When you film elopements sometimes that means getting up before dawn…or WELL before dawn. We were with Chelsea and Cody at their cabin at 3am in the morning prior to heading up to 12,000ft to catch the sunrise. This wedding was filled with core memories, not just while filming their private elopement but also as we ate breakfast in our photographers van overlooking one of the most beautiful spots you could imagine.

BLAIRE & JEREMY

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA

After filming Jeremy’s sister’s wedding, I got to take a trip up to Charlottesville, VA to film he and Blaire’s wedding. I call these my films, but really the goal is for them to belong to someone else. Just as personalities differ from one couple to the next, I want “my” films to be reflective of that. If you were at the wedding, I hope this serves as an awesome way to remember it forever. And if you weren’t, I hope you feel like you’ve met Blaire and Jeremy after watching this. My only regret is not bumming a sip of that scotch….

MICHELLE & JARELL

THE BELL TOWER ON 24TH, HOUSTON TX

Before the wedding Michelle and Jarell told me they wanted something “epic.” If you know anything about Latin weddings then you also know that people come to PARTY. There were 3 bands at their wedding. I’m not ashamed to say my ears were ringing for a bit afterwards. Buckle up, this one is a total vibe!

But wait…there’s more!

NATALIE & RILEY

THE HOUSTONIAN, HOUSTON TX

As we all know, weddings all but ceased in 2020. A common theme post-lockdown was that many couples had really gotten to know each other during that time. Like, really “know” each other. There was nothing to do, nowhere to be, so they talked. And some fell in love. This was Natalie and Riley’s story. Their relationship grew even though they lived in separate states. The day of their wedding they left each other one final voicemail as single people - those messages are including in their film.

PETER & MATT

THE ASTORIAN, HOUSTON TX

Prior to Peter & Matt I had never filmed a gay wedding. I’ll admit I was a bit nervous - I did'n’t want to put my foot in mouth with dumb prompts or anything like that. I wanted to be supportive of their love but was also aware that everything I’d done to that point had been heteronormative. Their vows were some of the most heartfelt I’ve heard - and their friends were entirely supportive. The love in the room felt tangible, and I can only suppose that its because for the longest time it was not legal for them to marry. This film is the oldest on my site - my style has changed some since filming this wedding, but its here to openly profess that Candeo Films happily supports all kinds of love.
