Handcrafted Films for Lovers
Authentic. Bespoke. Connection.

Indya and Jenn,
It was great talking with you both about your elopement! I think I gave you the gist of my approach on the call, but if not I hope this page encapsulates everything. I’ve said it before on my website/IG/in our conversation, but I think it’s worth mentioning here: What I’m most fascinated by are the stories of my couples. I’m primarily interested in how you both interact with each other, how you show up in your relationship, and who you both are as individuals also. I think especially with your “surprise” announcement we can make something that’s both fun and meaningful that will capture this chapter of your relationship - in fact I really view what I do as less about capturing an event and more about preserving a time capsule of this moment in time for the both of you. Here’s what I know - you want someone who:
Is passionate about getting to know you and your story
Makes you feel comfortable and supported - both before and on your wedding day
Prioritizes your experience and the memories that matter to you
Let’s be honest - weddings are expensive. You’ve probably got some concerns, not least of which is getting the results you expect for the money you spend. And naturally, this has you wondering, "Why spend all our time, effort, and money on something we might not love?"
Ultimately you're looking for a videographer you can trust to tell your story honestly and authentically. Someone skilled with years of experience. But more importantly, someone who understands the heart behind the film they're creating for you.
When it comes down to it, you want your story to be the heart and soul of your film.
And I agree.
Because your film should be meaningful and valuable.
Not just today, but forever.
What you can expect with every collection:
EXPERIENCE
HANDCRAFTED
SERVICE - FOCUSED
I live to create. I’ve been filming weddings for more than 14 years, also working on short films and documentaries. In that time I’ve filmed more than 300 weddings, done film projects with brands such as CVS, Dallas Cowboys, ATEC, EXO, Salesforce and Venus Aerospace. In addition to film, I’m an audio engineer and musician. I work to blend stunning visuals with professional sound on every film.
I used to work for a company that churned wedding films out. When Candeo Films began, I decided I would never follow a template. I also don’t want to put you into a box that doesn’t match your personalities. What makes a wedding truly unique is you, so my top priority is representing you well and making sure that you can see your story clearly in your film.
My goal isn’t to create a film that wins awards or gets internet accolades. It’s a unique privilege to be able to make something that will be one of the most important pieces of art you’ll ever have. This is what drives me to deliver excellence - in both your film and experience.
“I fear we might be narcissists, we haven’t stopped watching. We’ve also shared it with everyone we’ve ever met. Well done.”
Reagan & Spenser
Many people will say every wedding is different - this is somewhat true.
This might sound controversial for a wedding vendor, but many weddings are like another. The stage is similar, the props are similar, the plot is similar (or identical) to another. What’s different is the CAST. The people in it are what make a wedding unique. I endeavor, with every film I make, to bottle up a bit of the essence of two lovers and distill it into a piece of art they can hold on to for a lifetime. If I can represent the couples in my films well then I feel like I’m successful. I’ll dabble with different styles, try new trends, but the HEART of Candeo Films is and must be to capture truth - to capture a love story.
You’re probably wondering how we’re going to do this.
It boils down to this: I can’t make something “uniquely yours” if I don’t know who you are.
We’ll start with a questionnaire. It doesn’t focus on logistics at all since you probably won’t have all those sorted out for awhile yet. Instead, I’ll ask you questions about who you are, your relationship, what you do together, what you love etc…
Normally I like to schedule a few different calls throughout the process. The first one is geared towards creative brainstorming. Using the questionnaire, we’ll figure out what things are really important to you both and how we can incorporate them into your film. There are no rules here. If your dream is to have a lightsaber fight in a fountain in your wedding clothes, we’ll make it happen.
I mentioned that normally with all but my base collection I do what I call story sessions. If you get a story session this gives us an extra step towards making it really yours. Because these don’t occur under the stress of a wedding day it usually results in something quite different from normal wedding “portraiture.” There are a few images below from these kinds of sessions. BUT If you get the base collection and we can coordinate how to make a story session happen, I’m also pretty much always down to do it :D
Finally, I like to think of making a film kind of like an old school portrait back in the Renaissance days - you would intentionally put things in the portrait that were important to you. If you hunted, you’d have a hunting rifle and perhaps a fox. If you were an artist, art would be featured. If you rode horses that would be incorporated in some way. I’d love to see if there’s something like that for you guys and if there might be a way to incorporate that into your film.

FILM OPTION: Normally I do film at $300 a reel, but if you wanted to do 2 reels I’d be happy to do that at $250/reel for an extra $500, and if you wanted 3 we could do that at $700. I’ve really been wanting to carve out more of a niche doing wedding motion picture film so I’d love to capture yall in full fall colors! Also, with film I use the footage in the highlight as well as deliver all the raw film footage to you in classic home movie style.
16mm Film
After a lot of back and forth, in 2023 I finally took the plunge and added a film option. I elected to go with 16mm film because it’s much higher definition than super 8 and I find it to be one of the more beautiful film formats out there, and to me it feels like watching a memory. This is designed to be an add-on, though a “film only” option is something I’m considering developing.
I’m including a film-only teaser as well as the full highlight film with film incorporated throughout. All film add-ons will be used in the highlight as well as being delivered in their entirety in a continuous, vintage home-movie format. If requested I can also get you the physical film reels. If you get a projector you could watch it back the old fashioned way!
3 reels of film (roughly 7-8 mins of film) = $900
5 reels of film (roughly 12-13 mins) = $1350

WEDDING COVERAGE | CAPTURE YOUR STORY
I purposely designed my collections to have full-day coverage so that I can be there for everything. I don’t offer short coverage days because I think it hurts the end product. With all collections featuring at least 9 hours of coverage (elopements with 7), this takes the pressure off of you and your planner. Whatever you want to do, I’m there for it.
02
EXPERIENCE | A TEAM YOU CAN TRUST
After more than a decade filming weddings, I’ve learned where to be to best capture the most important moments, as well as how to help you navigate through any potential stresses of the day. For collections with 2 shooters, I only work with people I know and trust.

PROFESSIONAL EDITING | FEEL THE DIFFERENCE
One of the things I hear a lot when people talk about my films is that they feel “real” and like a movie, not just images put to music. This is intentional. I’m fascinated by human emotion and want my films to “feel” true, with moments that make you laugh, cry, want to dance (sometimes all at once), etc. I typically spend 1-2 weeks editing each highlight film. The funny thing is I never wanted to really getting into editing (I always thought I was primarily going to be a cameraman), but the edit is where the film is truly made. My background in audio engineering ensures that in addition to beautifully crafted films, they also sound amazing.

DIGITAL DELIVERY | EASILY VIEW & SHARE
All collections include a customized gallery to host your films. I’ll share a personal link to an online viewing website that features all of your films. From there you can download your films directly to your computer as well as share with family and friends.
“Amazing!! You absolutely knocked it out of the park. This is the best thing we have from the entire wedding. Absolutely thrilled!! Honestly, I know wedding photos are always stressed (historically) but the video footage is so much more priceless in my opinion. We couldn’t thank you enough!!”

FEATURED FILMS
I’ve selected a few films to share below because I think they demonstrate how different a film can feel based on who I’m capturing. I hope these films feel like the couples they are about. First, Cara and Chad. This one sort of incorporates home footage. They had a camcorder that they’d filmed some of the wedding day on, as well as had footage from their proposal and some stuff filmed while on their honeymoon. If anything I hope this shows how I incorporate stuff that I didn’t capture myself. I don’t really care about the “resolution” or quality of footage - I felt like it captured something real and to me that’s more important than any camera that it was filmed on.
Jill and Nick had their wedding postponed due to Hurricane Helene, and that ended up playing a pretty large role in their film - I love how this one turned out and how it incorporated some rather different elements that you don’t normally see in wedding films including a courthouse wedding! I also included a recent film I did up here in the mountains that used quite a bit of film.
Finally, Brilee and Grace is an example of an LGTBQ+ wedding I filmed just so you can see how I approach that. It’s worth noting that some discussion of wardrobe beforehand would be helpful, especially if one or both of yall wear a dress. That detail is only important because dresses are harder to mic and I’d want to be strategic there.

CANDEO (Latin): v. i burn brightly, to glow brilliantly
I’m passionate about capturing real moments between two lovers.
I chose the name Candeo because I feel it represents what I set out to do with all my films: I want to make films that are centered around you and who you are on your biggest day surrounded by loved ones.
I’m a constant student of my craft - a huge film nerd who can talk about cinematography and cameras all day. From Tarkovsky to Malick, I love cinema. The thing that attracts me most to filming weddings, as cliche as it sounds, is the humanity of it. I can’t think of anything more interesting to film than a human face, or anything more moving than genuine human emotion.
This is more than a business to me.This is an art.
“Justin is an artist.
He knows both music and video and pairs them perfectly together. When my wife and I received our video, the resounding message we got is that anyone who watched our video who didn’t know us and our love, certainly would by the end.
Outside of his incredible work, he is a pleasure to work with. He is funny, responsive, inquisitive, and witty. He knows his stuff but is humble to any ideas you have for him creatively.
If you want to tell him what you want your wedding to look like/feel like that’s great. He can certainly do that.
If you want Justin to shine though… tell him and show him what kind of love you and your partner share and give him the reigns to tell that story for you, and you won’t be disappointed.”
